San Francisco Travel: Visiting @Kred HQ

August 3, 2012

Kathy N. Hassan (me) and Joshua Miller at KredHQ.

A couple of weeks back, I got to travel to San Francisco for the first time in probably eight or nine years.  This is the city I used to drive, fly and Greyhound to every summer to see my friends.
I loved the city so much, I truly felt that I left my heart in San Francisco back then.  But, I got busy with life.  This time around, my day was surrounded by social influencers and a major player in social media. After having some Chai and bruscetta (a weird combo, I know) with Chris (@SanFranGlasgow) and Tracy (@DustTrace), we headed for the Kred headquarters–one of my main stops that day.  In case you’re not familiar with KRED, they are sort of like Klout, except they separate out your influence (who Retweets you, etc.) and your outreach (who do you engage with, your Retweets, etc.), and they’re really transparent about how all your activity affects your score.  Check out my latest “Kredentials”:

We got quite a tour from Joshua Miller (@JoshuaNah), who is this super cool community manager for People Browsr and KRED.  If you can tell from the photos, the space is filled with busy people, but it didn’t feel stuffy.  I did feel like I was walking into a college lab where everyone is working on their thesis, but all the cute wall posts and quirky art sort of made me think that people have fun and enjoy working there.  Should I be jealous of you, Joshua?  Thanks to Kred CEO Andrew Grill (@AndrewGrill) for reaching out to little ole me.  Now that’s customer service!

*Stay tuned for Part 2 of my San Francisco trip.  It’s a doozy.
